The Venue

Henley Park is on the banks of Lake Wallace, Edenhope.
The market will commence at 9am with a mix of dog and human merchandise to browse and purchase. If you wish to participate as a stall holder, market stalls can be booked here for $15 each.

Hot takeaway food and coffee will be available all day.

Please ensure you bring water and a bowl for your dog. For your own comfort you may wish to bring your own chairs etc.

Programme of Events

The official day will start at 10.15 am with the dog show with fun events such as: Smartest on Parade, Golden Oldies and Fancy Dress.

The dachshund races will begin after lunch with heats and then the final for the heat winners.

There will be a non-dachshund race, The Small Breed Open for dogs under 30cm at the shoulder/wither and The Dackel Dash is back.

A fun, family & community event for dachshunds, small dogs, locals and visitors alike.

What’s new in 2026?

In 2026 we have a special “Hobby Dackel Dash” for kids under the age of 12. We had it in 2025 and it was a huge success so we’re doing it again this year.

In 2026 we have a$15 per entry fee for all dogs on the Sunday which gives you access to as many events as you like. You will be given a wristband to show proof of payment.

It will be free entry to the venue for the public.

Events over the weekend

Saturday evening we will have our PJ party at the Lake Wallace Hotel.

Sunday will be D-Day!! The races and events at Henley Park, Edenhope.

The Rules

  • Entry for all events will be $15 per dog for as many events as you like (including races). Cash only as no eftpos facilities.
  • No aggressive dogs.
  • Purebred dachshunds only (only allowance for non-dachshund small dog races).
  • No puppies under 4 months of age (this applies for all dogs on the day).
  • ALL DOGS must be on lead outside of race track.
  • Pick up your dog’s poo. There are two dog poo bag dispensers at Henley Park.
